David Ospina’s move to Fenerbahce is reportedly almost complete with the goalkeeper set to have his medical with the Turkish club next week.
Ospina’s long-awaited £3m move to Fenerbahce looks set to be completed very soon.
According to Turkish outlet, Fanatik, the 28-year-old, who told Arsenal that he wanted to leave if he didn’t get more playing time this season, will sign a four-year deal with the club after having his medical next week.
Ospina made just 14 appearances over all competitions for Arsenal last term, with only two of these being in the Premier League, and while the Colombia international was chosen ahead of the more experienced Petr Cech for the Gunners’ FA Cup final clash against Chelsea, he’ll still be leaving.
At the end of the season, Ospina said, “I am happy, but I want to have more continuity.
“We will have conversations (about my future) to make those decisions, it would be difficult to repeat a season like this.”
It seems as if those ‘conversations’ ended with both the player and club realising that him leaving was the best course of action.
