This summer transfer window is beginning to look like the last summer transfer window which ended with Arsenal signing only Petr Cech from Chelsea. Having already signed Granit Xhaka, many would think Arsenal would have completed their second summer signing, alias, Arsenal has lost yet another target. This time Manchester United as according to reports from Metro reached an agreement to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan for £26.3million from Borussia Dortmund.
For a while now, the Arsenal manager’s lack of spending in the transfer market is has left Arsenal fans very frustrated with the Frenchman. Arsenal had to be prudent with their spending as a result of the debt imposed on them as a result of building the Emirates stadium.
Here and now, things have changed. Nine year have passed, and the club are undeniably in a much better position. This summer, it was widely acknowledged after the seeing the exit of Thomas Rocisky, Matthieu Flamini, and Mikel Arteta that Arsenal need a midfielder and to add, a top striker. Only the first of these requirements was addressed immediately, as Wenger landed a major coup by signing Granit Xhaka from Borussia Mochengladbach.
Gunner’s fans sensed a change, and waited for more big names to follow suit. The day has turned into weeks and yet, nothing has changed. With Jamie Vardy choosing to remain at Leicester City, and Mkhitaryan joining Manchester United, there is a good chance Arsenal fans could end another summer transfer window in disappointment.
