In a news that will shock the world, Arsenal is said to be on the verge of signing their second summer signing. Reports claim Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has held talks with the agent of Romelu Lukaku and an agreement has been reached with the representatives of the player on personal terms and should Arsenal be able to reach an agreement with Everton, the former Chelsea and Anderlecht star will be play Arsenal next season.
Lukaku who scored 25 goals and created 6 assists in all competition for Everton last season has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and PSG but it appears Arsenal have moved ahead of the chasing pack in a bid to sign the Belgian.
Reportedly available for £45 million, Lukaku had in April confirmed he will like to leave Everton this summer for a club playing in the Champions League which rules out the trio of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United who are not playing in the Champions League next season.
PSG who have also been linked with him appear to have lost interest as Cavani who was thought to be leaving the club is now set to stay and will sign a new contract extension.
However, considering the price Everton are demanding for the player, it will be a big surprise if Wenger sanctions such a move. I simply can’t see Wenger agreeing to pay as much as £45 million for Lukaku.
