Massive blow as Wenger rule out duo midfielders out of Chelsea clash

Arsenal had the opportunity of closing in  on the gap between League leaders Chelsea and they but we were beaten right in front of our eyes by Watford – what a shame.

According to the Metro,

Arsenal have injury concerns around Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain following their shock 2-1 defeat to Watford on Tuesday.

Ramsey came off midway through the first half with a problem and then his replacement, Oxlade-Chamberlain, could be seen limping during the last 20 minutes of the match at the Emirates.

Speaking after the game, Wenger offered his initial assessment.

‘It’s a calf strain,’ he said of Wales international Ramsey. ‘I don’t know how long he will be out for, but it’s a calf strain.’

On Oxlade-Chamberlain he was more positive when asked if he was a doubt for Arsenal’s next game. ‘No, I don’t think so. I think he should be alright.’

That next game is the small matter of a trip to Stamford Bridge to play league leaders Chelsea. After last night’s results the Gunners trail their London rivals by nine points.
