Alvaro Morata to Arsenal has been documented, overtly, to the point that no one wants to hear about it or read about it, but, there appears to be a twist in the tale as Manchester United have made their interest known.
Manchester United have put their name in the hat, a hat which so far contained only Arsenal’s name, to sign Real Madrid’s highly rated youngster Alvaro Morata, according to ESPN.
Morata has been on Arsenal’s radar for long and was rumoured to have agreed a loan deal with them in January, only for nothing to come of it in the end. He is presently said to have agreed personal terms with Arsenal and should be moving to London contrary to Madrid’s agreement.
Manchester United are trying to hijack any such move by making their own interest known. United already have a host of attacking talents at the club but with Robin van Persie’s histrionics and the purported intention to sell Javier Hernandez, United will be a bit short of the required numbers and have highlighted the young Spaniard as the perfect candidate to join them in such circumstances.
Morata is a highly rated striker in Spain but has found life frustrating at Madrid with him being forced to the bench, and most recently not even on the bench. He is adamant to get away and earn some playing time while he’s still young. He currently has Karim Benzema and Jese ahead of him in the pecking order and it doesn’t look like he’ll get his wishes of playing in the first team fulfilled any time soon.
Which of the two teams is more eager to land the young striker will be seen in the summer, but it will also highlight the players ambitions.
