Manchester city will try to hijack Arsenal’s planned January move for Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas according to the Sun newspaper. Casillas is been reported by the Spanish media as likely to join Arsenal in the January transfer window if his situation at Real Madrid does not improve from now till January but if you believe the SUN, Manchester City are bracing themselves up to hijack the deal by offering him and Real Madrid more money.
The Spanish legendary goalkeeper only managed a total of 19 matches last season after been dropped from the first team by the then first team manage Jose Mourinho. Casillas did not feature in the first team after the group stages of the UEFA champions league. He was unused sub as his side do battle with Manchester United, Galatasaray and Borussia Dortmund who ousted them.
People had thought his situation will improve once Mourinho leaves the club as many were of the believe that Casillas was dropped for Diego Lopez mainly because he had personal problems with Mourinho. However, despite Mourinho leaving, Diego Lopez is still been preferred to him by new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
He has been advised to go to a club where he will be able to command regular first team action. Manchester City are reportedly in the market for a new goalkeeper who will either put Joe Hart on his toes of totally oust him from the first team after series of high profile mistakes.
