Luiz Suarez may after all move to Arsenal. Former Liverpool player Jan Molby reckons Suarez deserves to play in the champions league and he fears if Liverpool do not make it into the top 4 this season, they can kiss good bye to the Uruguayan. Suarez had made it known to Liverpool he wanted to leave in the last summer transfer window but he was not allowed to leave as Liverpool resisted Arsenal’s attempt to sign the striker.
However, according to Jan Molby, should Liverpool find themselves not playing Europe’s elite club competition next season, Liverpool will have to be prepared to lose their star striker.
Molby said: “Liverpool were very strong in the summer by refusing to sell him but now the club have to convince Suarez that he can achieve what he wants by staying at Anfield.
“A player like Suarez wants to play in the Champions League and he wants a club with a real chance of winning it. His talent deserves that.
“There will be some questions to be answered a year from now if Liverpool are not in the Champions League but for the time being he is there.
“Champions League qualification has to be the aim for Liverpool with the amount of investment they have made. They might miss out because there are six strong teams there but you think they’ll be there or thereabouts to the end.”
The eccentric South American only just returned to action for Liverpool against Manchester United in the league cup 3rd round game after seeing out a 10 games ban. He is expected to play for the anfield club against Sunderland later today.
