Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger has lamented at the manner in which his side got beaten at Old Trafford on Sunday. The EPL leaders succumbed to a narrow 1-0 defeat in Manchester despite dominating possession for long spells.
The Gunners remain at the top of the Premier League table but had the the chance to open up a 5 point gap over 2nd placed Liverpool, as well as an 11-point gap between themselves and the Red Devils.
However, David Moyes’ side are now only 5 points behind Wenger’s men but Arsène believes Sunday’s result didn’t do justice to his side’s performance.
“I nearly tend to say it’s unfair because we put a little bit ourselves on the back foot in the first half because we rushed our game and were too nervous,” Wenger said.
“When we started to play we dominated the game completely and were unlucky not to score in the second half.
“I hope that everybody’s full of rage basically against ourselves because it’s unbelievable to lose a game like that.”
The Gunners have recently proven to bounce back quickly from set-backs and Wenger would be hoping his side do just that after the international break.
