Arsenal are monitoring Genk attacking midfielder Leandro Trossard, according to the player’s agent. Trossard has been in sublime form for the Belgian club this season with 14 goals and four assists in 18 appearances so far. Arsenal, meanwhile, are in the market for a new attacker who is capable of playing on the flanks following Danny Welbeck’s long-term injury. But while the Gunners are keeping tabs on Trossard’s progress for the Jupiler League leaders, the 23-year-old’s representative has ruled out a potential transfer in the January window. ‘It’s very clear that Leandro will continue to play football at Genk for another year,’ Josy Comhair told Sporza.
‘I contacted representatives from Arsenal and Tottenham. ‘At Spurs, nobody wanted to confirm that Trossard is an option, but Arsenal did.
‘They told me Leandro has a very interesting profile for them and that they have been following him since August. ‘They also added it was a good choice to stay at Genk for another year. They ended the phone call with ‘They are keeping a close eye on him’.’
