Arsenal are planning to replace manager Arsène Wenger with Germany boss Joachim Low, according to Bundesliga expert Lee Price.

According to the Express, Price thinks that Low is the Gunners next choice of manager. He said: “Though the Wenger Out campaign has begun in earnest and early this season, the Arsenal board have already secretly begun succession planning – however much that surprises supporters.

“It is believed that the club will not offer an extension to (Wenger’s) current deal as manager – and will instead offer an upstairs role on the board, likely honorary.

“They intend to replace him with a man who can have a similar long-term outlook as the Frenchman, with Germany boss Joachim Low emerging as surprise contender.”

Low, 57, has won trophies with three different teams at club level, but his most impressive achievements come with the German national side, where in eleven years he has won the World Cup, the Confederations Cup and finished as runners-up in the European Championship.

Of course, with Germany, Low has one of the most talented groups of players around. Meanwhile, Arsenal appear to have a lot of talent on paper but don’t always show it on the pitch.

With the World Cup coming up, Price thinks that this will be the time for Low to step down from the German team, meaning the London side will be free to approach him. Price feels the Gunners regard Low as a safer choice than the young and exciting, but risky, options being linked with Arsenal.

I think most Arsenal fans will believe that the club have a succession plan in place when they see it.
