Welsh midfielder Ramsey is in the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and, though Arsenal are understood to be optimistic that he will stay put, talks that have been ongoing since March have not led to a positive resolution.
Following the departures of Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere in recent months Ramsey is now the longest-serving player in the Arsenal squad having joined from Cardiff in 2008.
In that time he has scored two FA Cup winning goals and twice been voted by supporters as their player of the season, carving out a role in Arsenal history that his team-mate is eager to see him build on with an agreement for a new contract.
“Ramsey is really important,” Lacazette said at the launch of Arsenal’s third kit in Singapore. “Aaron is there for maybe 10 years, he’s a legend in the club so we have to be respectful for everything he has done.
“Of course with his quality he can help the team to be better.
“He’s an example for all the young players. Of course we need Aaron in the team.”
