Everton have dropped their asking price for midfielder Ross Barkley, according to reports.
Everton’s attempts to sell Ross Barkley haven’t been going well this summer.
Despite Barkley wanting to leave, and Everton wanting to sell, the £50m price tag has done a good job of putting off potential buyers.
However, according to the Mirror, Everton could drop their asking price to £35m to encourage clubs to make bids.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea have been linked with Barkley throughout the summer, although only two of those clubs have decent reasons to sign him.
The Mirror claim that Spurs are waiting until the end of the window to sign Barkley as they hope for a cheaper price.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are in need of more home-grown players due to Premier League squad rules.
Arsenal have so many attackers they’re actively trying to get rid of a couple, and are currently targeting Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.
Arsenal’s interest here just feels like it’s making up the numbers rather than genuine interest.
