Arsenal fans are eagerly waiting for the news of Jamie Vardy joining their club to be confirmed. But it appears the deal as with every other Arsenal news will drag on for a big. Arsenal were initially thought to get a reply from Vardy today on whether he is accepting the counter offer from Leicester City or moving to the Emirates but that plan has now shifted with the striker reportedly wanting more time before making a decision.
It was reported on Sunday that the player had had his medical and that the deal will be announced today but according to the BBC no medical took place at Arsenal and in fact the deal could still fall through as Vardy is yet to make up his mind on whether he will be signing for Arsenal or accept Leicester City counter offer.
BBC claims Arsenal have made Vardy a contract offer of four years and will offer him a wage offer of £120,000 a week which will make him one of Arsenal’s highest paid players. Though the BBC is silent on what Leicester’s counter offer is but it is unlikely that they will be matching Arsenal’s £120,000 a week offer as that means they will have to also increase the wages of the other players which is something the Foxes can’t afford despite the new TV money.
