Jack Wilshere has warned his teammates that they must gel quickly following West Ham United’s back-to-back defeats in the Premier League.
The new signing was one of nine new additions to arrive at the London Stadium this summer – as well as new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Following an opening day drubbing to Liverpool, the Hammers were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth.
The Hammers went into half-time 1-0 up via Marko Arnautovic’s penalty – but Callum Wilson and Steve Cook ensured that the Cherries took all three points.
Pellegrini said after the game that the team ‘lacked trust’ with one another and the new system following their disappointing campaign last term.
The east London side sit in 19th position and Wilshere said they must adapt to his new tactics quickly to avoid another relegation fight.
Speaking to the club website, he said: “That’s the thing about this league, that you haven’t got much time to be down. You have to be back on the training pitch and go again.”
“We have got a lot of new players and we need to gel,” Wilshere contined.
“At this level in this league, people aren’t given time, so we have to do it quick and all tuck in this week.
“We started well and we all wanted to win this week and we felt we were good enough to win. Obviously, the dressing room is devastated because we should have come away with something from the game, but we have to go again.”
