The agent of Arsenal target Lucas Torreira has met with Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero to thrash out his client’s future.
The Gunners are working to sign the midfielder this summer and have made an offer of £26.5 million.
That is greater than the 22-year-old’s £22 million release clause, but it would allow Arsenal to pay the fee in instalments rather than upfront.
Several other clubs remain interested in Torreira, though, including Borussia Dortmund and Napoli.
They are both ready to make formal offers too and as a result, according to Il Secolo XIX, Torreira’s agent has met Sampdoria president Ferrero.
The two met to discuss where the Uruguayan wants to be playing next season as it is likely his release clause will be activated.
