Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has confirmed he’ll be leaving the club in this summer’s transfer window amid links with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

The France international has enjoyed another prolific season in Ligue 1 and says it’s time for him to try a new challenge.

Despite long standing interest from Arsenal, Lacazette said he alone will decide his next club, and hinted it could be Atletico Madrid after showering them with praise.

‘I think that’s the right time (to leave),’ he told L’Equipe.

‘I want to discover something else, to put myself in danger and to pass a level. In vain I say that I put goals, I know very well that on a European scale, I am not yet very recognized.

‘I want to see if I can answer the questions that people are asking, and to make further progress. We are at a time when everybody finds his account, and that’s good.’

When asked who will pick his next club, he said: ‘It’s totally me.’
