If quotes doing the round on the social media today are anything to go by, then Arsenal will in a matter of days, certainly not weeks, announced their second summer signing in Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. The Spanish striker is said to have told his close friends that he will be joining Arsenal and not Chelsea that earlier reports claim he is off to.
Wenger who is currently in France working for Bein Sport’s coverage of Euro 2016 is said to be using his time in France to talk to the agents of different players, including that of Alvaro Morata. Arsenal have been constantly linked with the signing for the Spaniard who played for Juventus last season but when Chelsea entered the race for the signature of the player, many thought the Gunners will stand no chance.
Talking the press in Spain, Morata was quoted to have said; “I want a team that makes me feel important and I would be ready to stay in Madrid to win my place. I do not have to prove anything to anyone. I am a player of Real Madrid and they will decide if they want me, otherwise we will find another solution. England is interesting, I like Arsenal playing style”
A big indication of where he will be playing next season and could explain why Chelsea have sing moved to sign Michy Batshuayi from Olympic Marseille for a reported fee of £33.2 million. The Blues certainly won’t be signing the Belgian if they know they stand a chance of getting Morata.
