Dani Alves left Barcelona and joined Juventus on a two-year deal and that has fuelled the search of a replacement at the Camp Nou.
Alves signed a two-year deal with the Serie A winners, with a options of to further extend the contract by one year. He turns into the Turin club’s second signing of the summer taking after the landing of Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma.
According to the London Standard, Bellerin has developed a target for the Spanish champions as Luis Enrique hopes to strengthen the defence dept of the squad for the 2016/17 season. Barcelona puts Bellerin as the perfect man to supplant Alves at the club.
As per reports, Bellerin has also welcomed reports linking him with a move to Spain. The full-back admitted he was “happy” to receive interest from a “great club” like Barcelona but insists that he was happy been a Gunner.
“I don’t really get informed about offers. My agent is the one that works on these sorts of things, but I’m happy to receive interest from such great clubs. As a player, it’s really nice,” the Mirror quoted Bellerin as saying.
“Right now I’m very happy where I am, at Arsenal and focusing on the national team. With these things, until you don’t know what to do until they arrive. I have signed a new contract for five years. If Alves leaves they will need a full-back, there are lots in Europe,” the Arsenal defender added.
The 21-year-old is not ready to leave the Gunners at least not the summer, consideraing the fact that he has broke into the first team and is assured first team football.
Personally, I do not see Belerin leaving Arsenal; he is still young and can do great things with the Gunners. Like he rightly said: “[if Barcelona needs] a full-back, there are lots in Europe”, they should go for other ones and leave the youngster to concentrate at the Emirates where he finds love.
