In a news that Arsenal fans will surely be happy with and which could also mean Theo Walcott has played his last game for us, reports from Germany claim Mario Gotze is keen on a move to Arsenal rather than going to Liverpool or Dortmund.
The world cup winner has made it clear so many times in recent times that he is not satisfied with the lack of playing time at Bayern Munich and it can only get worse after Bayern signed Renato Sanchez hence he was linked with a move back to Dortmund and Liverpool.
Arsenal have also been linked with the signing of the Germany world cup hero and should we sign him, he will be a good signing for us in many aspects. First his signing will mean we will see less of Theo Walcott, secondly he can be another option to Mesut Ozil in the 10 role when Ozil needs to be rested. He will also be a tactical option in attack as a false nine.
The fact that he is surplus to requirement at Bayern Munich means we will not have to pay over the odds to sign him. Also, Chelsea and Manchester United not been in the Champions League next season means they are not an option for him. City who would have signed him have Pep Guardiola who didn’t play him last season at Bayern Munich. Gotze is very unlikely to want to play under Pep again.
The ball is firmly on Arsenal’s court. If really want him, and why not, he is available and very gettable.
