Arsenal and Tottenham are both aiming to strengthen ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners have already completed the signings of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac as they aim to bounce back form last term’s fifth-placed finish.

Tottenham, meanwhile, want to bring in more players with Mauricio Pochettino targeting another crack at the league title.

Real Madrid midfielder Kovacic has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, though relations between the English and Spanish giants appears to have hit an all-time low.

And Diario Gol claim the midfielder is now interesting by Arsenal and Tottenham as well.

Reports earlier this week suggested Spurs had failed in a bid to lure the Croatia international to north London.

And Pochettino has now been joined by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in the list of the player’s admirers.

Kovacic has made 73 appearances since signing from Inter Milan in January 2015.

But, with the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro above him in the pecking order, he could be tempted to leave to pursue first-team football elsewhere.

Serie A giants Roma are also interested in a swoop with new director of football Monchi a fan.

However, Diario Gol add manager Zinedine Zidane has told the player he wants him to stay.

He acknowledges Kovacic is mulling over the prospect of a move away from the Bernabeu and, consequently, is doing his utmost to change his mind.
