According to the Express, Arsenal are preparing a formal bid for Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco after contacting the Spanish clubside to make enquires about the attackers availability this summer.
Carrasco who is a Belgian international, joined Atletico from AS Monaco in a £15m deal last summer and has enjoyed an excellent debut season in Spain, helping Diego Simeone’s men to a third-place finish in the La Liga and earning a UEFA Champions League runner-up medal.
And it seems the Belgian has caught the attention of Arsenal boss. And even though Arsene Wenger has already acquired the services of Granit Xhaka from Mönchengladbach, the Gunners boss is expected to further strengthen his squad over the coming weeks and it seems Carrasco is on his radar Wenger’s wishlist.
According to the Express who cited Emanuele Giulianelli, Arsenal have made contact with Atletico to make enquires about the availability if the winger this summer.
The Italian journalist suggests that Arsenal are now lining-up an official bid and Atletico could cash in on the 22-year old player if a bid in the region of £19m was offered with Simeone supposedly eyeing Lazio’s Antonio Candreva as a potential replacement.
Carrasco is a wide attacker who can play on either flank and as thus gives Wenger options in the final third.
