Lacazette joined the Gunners in a club-record £52million move this summer amid speculation that Sanchez could be set for the exit door at the Emirates, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich circling for the Chilean.
Many Gooners believed the ex-Lyon man was simply a replacement for the outgoing Sanchez but Wenger has revealed how both forwards will be playing alongside each other next season.
Speaking after Arsenal’s penalty shootout victory over Bayern Munich, Wenger told the club website: ‘Lacazette will play centre forward and Giroud was sick as well and had to stay at the hotel.
‘Alexis plays where he plays always, on the left, sometimes on the right but normally on the left.’
Wenger urged his players to continue their momentum from pre-season into the 2017/18 campaign.
‘I don’t want to go into any conclusions today. Both teams changed many players, what is important is that we can prepare properly,’ he said.
‘We worked very hard over the last few days and what is important is to have another go physically.
‘After that, let’s continue to prepare and show a winning mentality when the season starts.’
