With all Gooners in agreement that players need to be purchased in order for Arsenal to once again challenge for trophies, we are all wondering when will fresh faces be seen at The Emirates?
There will be added talent to the current squad, still on an undefeated 12 game run, in order to keep that record in tact. The squad is talented enough to do well enough to compete but I believe they have realised with the additions of some new blood, The Emirates will have the honour of applying it’s first trophy to the stands.
Two players that have been frequently linked with the club in the past weeks, Gonzalo Higuain and Marouane Fellaini, are two players who could fire Arsenal back into trophy contention with Arsenal crying out for a proven goalscorer and a dominant midfielder.
These two acquisitions, could greatly improve the side with two key positions addressed with two brilliant players and the squad still on a high from the 12 game unbeaten run, next season Arsenal could become a serious threat.
If Higuain and Fellaini were Arsenal’s premier purchases, any further purchase would be a giant statement to all premier league clubs as with (fingers crossed) no big players leaving the squad, the Arsenal players are comfortable playing with one another and won’t have to bide their time in order to gel, as per last season. Any further addition to the squad would do nothing but strengthen Arsenal’s chances of victory and will also be much encouraged by Gooners.
Let’s also not forget about the youngsters coming through and adding depth to the squad such as Ryo Miyaichi, Serge Gnabry, Thomas Eisfeld, Hector Bellerin, Jon Toral, Chuba Akpom, Benik Afobe, Wellington and Joel Campbell.
It’s not guaranteed that any of these players will feature next season but they all have the talent to represent Arsenal in the future and should be given a chance to shine in the Capital One Cup for the opportunity to prove they’re capable of stepping up to the first team squad.
Arsenal are on the verge of smashing their transfer record by splashing out on these two vital signings and possibly even more. Arsene Wenger has realised in order to again compete in the Barclays Premier League, the time has come for him to cash in on the successful sponsorship deals, so he can lift the title for a long-awaited fourth time.
Arsenal fans everywhere will be will be nervously awaiting the announcement of Arsenal’s marquee signings for the 2013/14 season. Hopefully they will be the perfect fit for The Gunners and end our eight year misery.
