Arsenal may be announcing their second summer signing in Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan if official confirmation from Dortmund is anything to go by. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the signing of the Armenian international who has so far rejected Dortmund’s offer of a contract extension.
The Bundesliga player of the year for the just concluded season has just one year left on his contract and has reportedly made it clear to the German club that he wants to leave with a move to the Premier League exciting for him. Dortmund were said to be reluctant to let him go but they have changed their stance according to reports by the usually very reliable German media outlet BILD.
situation, BVB chief Michael Zorc while talking to BILD stated: “We will make a decision this week!”
This means Arsenal fans can this week know for sure if we will be signing Mkhitaryan or if the player will remain at Dortmund till the end of his contract and move on a free transfer. Should Arsenal manage to sign him, which is likely considering the player himself has confirmed many times that he will like to play for Arsenal and Wenger, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Theo Walcott at the club.
