According to various reports from the English and the German press, Borussia Dortmund and Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan prefers a move to Arsenal rather than Chelsea. The Bundesliga player of the year was initially thought to be on his way to Juventus or Chelsea but newer reports claim Arsenal have practically won the race for the signature of the player.
After scoring 19 goals and creating 24 assists and been named the Bundesliga player of the year, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has turned down Dortmund’s offer of a new contract and although the former German champions were initially adamant they won’t be selling him, very reliable German media outlet Kicket confirmed yesterday that they have had a change of mind and will consider selling the player.
In place of Mkhitaryan, Dortmund are working on signing Riccardo Saponara from Empoli in the Italian league. Reports have it that Dortmund are quite advanced in their discussion with Empoli and the deal could be announced this week. This probably means Kicker is after all right and Dortmund will be selling the player.
Mkhitaryan will be a worthy replacement for Theo Walcott who is rumoured to be on his way to Leicester City. Imaging Ozil, Sanchez, Vardy, Mkhitaryan leading our attack next season? Teams will be shitting their pants even before we play them.
