Arsenal will in a couple of hours announce yet another major transfer business according to report. Reports today state that Arsenal is near securing an agreement for Wojciech Szczesny to join Roma for £15million, as indicated by a report.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper spent the 2015/16 season on loan in Italy with the Serie A club, showing up under both Rudi Garcia and Luciano Spalletti as the club first choice.
The Express claim however that Szczesny won’t come back to Emirates Stadium as he is in talks to sign on at the Stadio Olimpico for a fee in the region of £15million.
Roma are quick to make this transfer happen, with Italian outlet Gazza Mercato pronouncing that discussions between the two sides will be held on Monday.
His course once more into the Arsenal set-up has been obstructed by Petr Cech who arrived the club from Chelsea FC last season.
Szczesny has freely expressed his yearning to join Roma as he is regarded as the first choice in the team and he also claimed that Spalletti’s ‘goalkeeper’ coaches are better than that of the Arsenal coaches.
Szczesny, who has been capped 27 times by his Nation, began at Legia Warsaw before moving to Arsenal when he was 16 and grew under the tutorship of Arsene Wenger and has subsequently made 181 senior appearances.
The previous Brentford loanee was incorporated into Poland’s Euro 2016 squad but made only one appearance after falling down the pecking order behind former Arsenal teammate Lukasz Fabianski.
Arsenal should not let Woj go, because he would be a great goalie after his spell at Roma, but if the player feels he is better at Roma, No problem!
