Arsenal made a sizzling start to the Premier League as they kicked off the first game of the new campaign against Leicester City at the Emirates. They did manage to take all three points but it was far from a satisfactory victory and Arsene Wenger will want to keep things simple this weekend.
They travel to the BET65 on Saturday in what could be yet another exciting affair in the Premier League. Arsenal will not settle for anything less than three points but Stoke, who lost to Everton on the opening day, will also be keen on being their best.
Skipper Laurent Koscielny will miss this game through suspension while Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Kieran Gibbs and Gabriel Paulista are all out injured. Chilean star Alexis Sanchez is one game short of a comeback into the first team. Shkodran Mustafi, Francis Coquelin and Per Mertesacker are all back in contention for a place in the team.
Manager: Arsene Wenger
GK – Petr Cech
The experienced shot-stopper has been the first choice for Arsenal for a while now and he should start in goal against Stoke.
CB – Rob Holding
The youngster has been solid at the back for Arsenal from late last season and deserves to keep his place in the starting XI at the back. He struggled against Leicester but expect him to bounce back.
CB – Per Mertesacker
The German defender is not the first choice for Arsenal but Koscielny’s suspension should see him start at the heart of the backline for the Gunners.
CB – Shkodran Mustafi
Completing the backline is Shkodran Mustafi, who is just back from an injury. He will be up against Shaqiri, who is in decent form.
RWB – Hector Bellerin
Though ‘the Ox’ has been effective in this role, Wenger should stick with a more natural wing-back in Bellerin for this tie.
CM – Granit Xhaka
The Swiss international is fast becoming an important player for the Gunners and at the moment, he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
CM – Aaron Ramsey
Though he was used from the bench in the previous game, Ramsey is a creator that Arsenal need in the midfield. He found the back of the net in the previous game and should start ahead of Elneny.
LWB – Sead Kolasinac
The newbie for Arsenal, Kolasinac had a solid start to his PL campaign against Leicester and will hope to keep up the good work.RW – Mesut Ozil
The German playmaker was slightly out of sorts in the first game but Wenger will hope that he Comes back to form in this game against Stoke.
LW – Danny Welbeck
Picked up a goal in the first game of the PL season to get Arsenal back level against the Foxes and the absence of Sanchez should see him start in a similar position on the wing.
ST – Alexandre Lacazette
The French striker made a dream start to his English league career by scoring with his second touch and first shot on goal. Wenger will hope that he can put in a similar performance at the BET365 as well.
