Arsenal fans are desperate for the club to sign a striker and rightly so. It was glaringly obvious last season that Arsenal would have won the league if they had a better striker than Giroud or at least another striker who scores as many as 15 goals per season. All the burden for goals was on Giroud last season and when the Frenchman lost form, it affected us. Hence the calls for a striker to be signed this summer.
It appears these prayers are set to be answered if you believe a report by telegraph. According to the highly reliable British paper, Arsenal are set to sign Alexandre Lacazette from the French league one side Olympic Lyonaise. Lacazette, 25, has always been linked with Arsenal but it appears this summer will finally be the summer he will move to Arsenal.
With Arsenal priced out of the move for Morata, Vardy and Cavani choosing to remain at their clubs, Inter and Everton not looking like they want to sell Icardi and Lukaku respectively, Arsenal’s only choice for a striker within their low budget remains Lacazette.
According to Telegraph, Arsenal have told Lyon they will pay the €40 million for the player and Lyon officials will arrive London today to hold talks with Arsenal in regards to the transfer of the striker who scored 23 goals for league last season in the French league.
