€25 Bid To Be ACCEPTED, Ricardo Rodriguez To Become A Gunner By July 1

According to reports made available by Bild, North London club Arsenal has made formal contact with German side Wolfsburg regarding the transfer of left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is currently hoping to strengthen his squad ahead of next season in preparation for the exit of Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Debuchy who have since been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

The German club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs also revealed that Arsenal are interested in signing the Swizz international. “We are on the alert and we are prepared [to sell]. They [Ricardo Rodriguez and Luiz Gustavo] will not get cheaper, rather the opposite.”

Allofs also insisted his price will inflate after July 1st despite the player himself wanting to leave the German side, with the Premier league his likely destination.

“We are on the alert and we are prepared, they will not get cheaper, rather the opposite” he told Kicker.

Ricardo Rodriguez moved to German club Wolfsburg in 2012 from Zurich and has gone on to play 125 games scoring 13 goals. The defenders impressive performances have seen him represent Switzerland 40 times scoring no goal.

According to the metro, the Gunners will have to trigger the €25 million release clause in Rodriguez’s contract before July 1.

Scout report indicates that the fullback would certainly fit into Arsenal’s style of play, he likes to bust forward as much as he can and a good crossing ability.

The Gunners will have to battle fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United, who are said to be interested, including Spanish giants Real Madrid
