According to a report, Germany international and Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler is hell bent to move to Arsenal, a move that has been in the making for two years.
Draxler was undoubtedly one of Germany’s best players at the just concluded European championship, as they got to the semi-finals before being kicked out by hosts France.
According to the Sun, the former Schalke midfielder had been linked to the Gunners for a fee of about £43million that would see Arsene Wenger break Arsenal’s £40million transfer record they spent to sign Germany international Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid in 2013.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Emanuele Giulianelli on his personal Twitter handle on Monday afternoon, the Emirate club had not submitted a bid for the 22-year-old attacker.
However, Emanuele Giulianelli did reveal that the German’s agent Roger Witmann had been contacted by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over a possible move to London.
Giulianelli also tweeted that World Cup winner had always wanted to move to Arsenal even during his time at Schalke.
Draxler was in sensational impressive form last season, scoring 9 goals in all competitions and making eight more in 35 appearances for Wolfsburg.
