Done! Wenger moves to agree deal for second new signing, £38m star reached

More sources are reporting that Arsene Wenger is undone in the transfer market of the this winter and  is keen to take his search for a new midfielder forward.

Midfielders including Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini left Arsenal at the end of last season and it was only Granit Xhaka that was bought in their stead last summer.

As a result, Arsene Wenger has turned his focus to the addition of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lucas Moura, who would be his second signing of the January transfer window after the arrival of Cohen Bramall this week.

According to the Express, there are more details to the rumour which broke yesterday and Arsenal have apparently been in direct contact with the 24-year-old Brazilian star.

The Gunners have already failed in their pursuit of another attacking midfielder after Julian Draxler opted to join PSG despite being offered a route to the Emirates stadium.

However, it is reasonable to assume that following the acquisition of the German, the Ligue 1 champions will be willing to let go of Moura, whom they signed from Sao Paulo for $46.2 million (£38 million) in 2012.
