Arsenal have been linked with bids for players, but have not been able to sign close to a 100% of their targets. Shockingly, Arsene Wenger or Arsenal have never denied placing bids for their target which means, they have not been offering/meeting the valuations of the said players.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal trip to Leicester City, Arsene Wenger has revealed that “We are ready to spend”, although, he remained coy over the player(s) he wants to sign.
Arsenal have been locked in talks with Valencia over a deal for Germany born centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, following injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
When quizzed about possible signings, he said:
“I believe it’s better if I don’t talk about individual players, but we are ready to spend the money we have,” Wenger told a press conference.
“It is very difficult to identify people and you have many examples of people in England who spend huge money on CBs and not made it.
“It’s important to spend money the right way – it’s not my money.”
Mustafi was spotted training alone and it is understood that he is preparing to take a trip to London to complete a deal.
Having spent mainly on Granit Xhaka, we obviously have a huge reserve of transfer war chest and should be able to spend up to 35million Pounds for Mustafi.
