Done deal? Wenger personally sanctions €33m deal for Cazorla’s replacement

Until the close of the January transfer window, some players will continue to reign in the media wave of Arsenal.

Juventus’ midfielder Miralem Pjanic is yet in the media wave of Arsenal and The Sun is reporting that Wenger wants a deal done for the player.

Pjanic has many of the same attributes that make Cazorla such a key part of Arsenal’s plans: a quick passing game, great vision, good at dribbling and with excellent from set-pieces. And like Cazorla, Pjanic can drop deep to receive the ball from the back four and quickly instigate an attack. As a like-for-like replacement, Pjanic would fill Cazorla’s boots in a more natural way than Granit Xhaka or Aaron Ramsey, who both have differing playing styles.

However, Arsene Wenger said at his press conference on Thursday morning that he’s not looking to find a replacement for Santi Cazorla in this window because it’s very hard to find one of that quality in January. That immediately puts a massive question mark over this story, even more than the one that was there in the first place because it’s a Sun EXCLUSIVE.

There are reports that Arsene Wenger personally called the player and that the Bosnian responded with enthusiasm and that the pair are ‘working towards a verbal agreement’.

Despite this, the Sun claim Arsenal will ‘test the waters by submitting a £28million offer.’
