Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on young Russian defender Igor Diveev, who has caught their attention during the COTIF youth tournament.
The Mirror reports that the Gunners have been impressed with Diveev, who currently plays his football for FC UFA.
The defender reportedly found the back of the net against Argentina, while also impressing throughout the tournament.
Diveev stands at an impressive 6ft 3in at the age of just 18.
The young defender is likely to have been watched by Sven Mislintat, who has played a key role in Arsenal’s transfer business throughout the summer.
A potential deal to sign Diveev would show that the Gunners are casting one eye towards the future.
The Gunners were keen to strengthen in defence over the summer and signed Sokratis from Dortmund.
It is yet to be seen if Diveev would be considered as part of the first-team squad given his tender age.
