Arsenal and Boca Juniors have reached an agreement for the transfer of David Ospina according to a report from South America.
The 29-year-old keeper is expected to make way this summer after the club purchased Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.
Ospina arrived after the 2014 World Cup, at which he impressed, but has largely disappointed in North London.
Much of that could, of course, be down to how he was being coached at the club, and the way the defenders in front of him were playing, but you will be hard pushed to find many people sad at his impending exit.
The report in El Dia says, “The leadership of Boca has reached in the last hours an agreement with his peers of the Arsenal of England for the pass of Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina. While in Argentina they give almost the loan to the entity of La Ribera, from England they remain hermetic, beyond that the Arsenal has just hired the goalkeeper Bernd Leno.”
Of course, as you can see, Google translate has had its way with the original Spanish, but I think you get the gist.
