The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are distraught over the last few days having faced elimination from the Europa League, worsening what has now been a woeful season in Wenger’s last year in charge.

Hope was high that they could reach the Champions League through winning the Europa League but it turned out that Atletico Madrid were too good an opposition to get past. The performance epitomised everything that has been wrong with Arsenal for the last few seasons – a poor defence and a failure to threaten in attack.

Both things simply must be amended and going forward, Arsenal have to look at Leon Bailey, an explosive winger valued at £40.5 million by Transfermarkt.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a terrific break-through season with Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 12 goals as well as creating 6 more for his team-mates.

Bailey is already a menacing, pacey winger who is capable of inflicting a lot of damage to a team single-handedly and in a bid to challenge the top-four again, Arsenal should strengthen their means of goal-scoring before anything else.

Arsenal aren’t blessed with an array of quality in the wide departments, so Leon Bailey would automatically fit straight into the Arsenal team and could provide the Gunners with more attacking intent that is capable of hurting the opposition.

With Alexis Sanchez now at Man Utd, Bailey could be deemed the perfect long-term replacement for him.
