Deal AGREED, 6ft1 Star To Arrive London Colney For Arsenal Medical

With doubts still hanging on the heads of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny both of who have been linked with moves away from Arsenal, reports today claim Arsenal are on the verge of signing highly rated Gelderlander, NEC Nijmegen budding goalkeeper Guy Smith on a free transfer after the 20-year-old shotstopper refused to agree terms on a new deal with the Dutch club.

Guy Smith who have had stints at Brighton and Hove Albion under Chris Houghton is said to be on the way to Arsenal this week and will be put through a medical examination after which he will undergo a two weeks trial with Arsenal which if successful will see him signing a four years contract.

Arsenal are in need of a new goalkeeper especially as Ospina who was the second choice behind Petr Cech last season is set to join Turkish giants Besiktas while Szczesny is set to stay at for at least one more season, though the Italians now have an option to buy which means Wenger do not see a future for the Poland international at Arsenal which explains why the club has moved for Guy Smith.
