Arsenal have had a busy transfer window, but they’re managing to keep a number of their star players too.
Life under Unai Emery is going smoothly so far at Arsenal. He has bought five new stars, and his promises to the first team players looks to be paying off.
This is something which the Arsenal faithful aren’t used to, but certainly aren’t complaining about either. Things are looking promising at Arsenal right now, so losing players would come at a huge disappointment.
However, there are obviously some players that the Gunners should look at selling, to avoid a squad bombardment.
Nacho Monreal won’t be one of those players, according to Mundo Deportivo. It appears Real Sociedad have ended their interest in the Spaniard, and he will stay for at least one more season.
This is good news for Arsenal.
Monreal still has a lot left to give. He may be ageing, which is always worrying for a full back, but he only seems to be getting better with age.
Last season was his best season in an Arsenal shirt, while also breaking his record goal scoring input.
He likes to push forward and win back possession in the opposition’s half. This is an underrated trait of his, and one which Emery could look to exploit on a regular basis.
