Arsenal have been linked with the signing of many world class players this summer. It certainly does seem Wenger is keen on bolstering the squad this summer unlike last summer. However, the Frenchman has a battle in his hand.
According to a report from Sky Italia, the Italian version of Skysports, Juventus are showing keen interest in signing the Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez. Juve reportedly sees the Chilean international as the “best available candidate” to replace the departed Alvaro Morata in their attack.
Arsenal is however said to have made it clear to the Italian that the Sanchez is not for sale. Juve’s opening offer for the former Barcelona man is lower than the £35 million the Gunners paid the Catalans for his move to the Emirates Stadium which is comical to be honest. Whatever gives the Italian the idea that Arsenal will sell Sanchez cheaper than they bought him must be hell bent on deluding them.
His contract with Arsenal still has two years left to run, and the 27-year-old’s profile has arguably risen since he moved to the Emirates Stadium two years ago. Aside helping Arsenal win the FA cup, he has won the Copa America twice. He is certainly worth more than Juventus’ ridiculous €35 million which is just about £27 million, £8 million less than we bought him for.
