According to Sky Sports, German and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is set to discuss a massive contract extension deal with Arsenal after the Euro’s in July.
Ozil has been linked with various clubs for some time after it appeared he wanted to leave the club but Sky Sports has confirmed the former Real Madrid midfielder is happy at Arsenal and ready to extend his contract with the club.
The German provided 18 assists last season becoming the highest assist provider in the English Premier League. Ozil’s current contract still has two years to run and Ozil last week said, “I still have two years contract with Arsenal, as you know and we will be in talks with the club and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
“But as I said, now I’m comcentrating on Euro 2016 in France, which is very important for me and my team after the last World Cup. Then later on, I will see what I do with Arsenal.”
Arsenal absolutely need to get the deal done and dusted and as soon as possible as the last thing we want is for another club to make an offer for him. That could confuse him which could result to us losing our best player.
