Since his breakthrough into the Norwich City starting eleven, youngster Max Aarons has impressed significantly. Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal have had the Canaries prospect on their radar, but the defender has signed a new deal at Carrow Road, running through until June 2023.
Aarons’ first professional contract – which was originally set to expire in 2021 – has been extended by a further two years until the summer of 2023.
The full-back has become a regular in the side of Daniel Farke, and has made nine appearances in all competitions so far, as well as picking up a goal in Norwich City’s Carabao Cup clash with Cardiff City.
The youngster’s impressive performance at such a young age have caught the eyes of Arsenal and Chelsea – and both have been linked with moves for the 18-year-old, according to the Eastern Daily Press.
However, Aarons is thrilled to have committed his long term future to The Canaries. He spoke to the club website:
“I’m really happy as the Club has shown their faith in me,” Aarons said.
“To play me at 18-years-old, some managers wouldn’t have done that, so I can only thank the boss for that.
“It’s amazing, from last season with the Under-23s and now in the Championship it has been a big step, I’ve really enjoyed it and can’t wait to carry on.”
Manager Daniel Farke also told the club website of how impressed he has been with the development of the youngster.
“From the first moment he was with us he has improved each and every day, his consistency in his performances is outstanding.
“He’s just 18-years-old, it’s outstanding at such a young age with such good performances, I hope we can develop him further.”
