Alexandre Lacazette has been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent weeks now and he is in the news again with Arsenal not backing out on the possibility of luring the attacker to the Emirates.
Arsenal is driving the pursuit alongside Paris Saint Germain for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after he snubbed interest from Tottenham Hotspur, according to talkSPORT.
Lacazette has been with Lyon his entire career having advanced through the youth set-up before breaking into the first team in 2010 and he’s created notoriety for being a standout amongst the most deadly strikers in European football as of late.
The 25-year-old’s scored 23 goals in all competition last season, which took is goal tally for the club to 75 goals over the past three campaigns and his noteworthy form has prompted interest from various Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.
talkSPORT claims that Spurs and the Hammers have officially communicated their interest for conveying the striker to Britain this summer, however they propose that Lacazette has rejected their offers as he doesn’t believe they match his aspirations.
In any case, the French International could still be setting out with a move to the Premier League as talkSPORT go ahead to say that the Gunners and PSG are currently driving the pursuit for Lacazette’s signature and the striker is presently sitting tight for the pair to approach with formal offers.
The news comes days after the Mirror reported that Arsene Wenger was expected to hold talks with the striker’s agent in France this week to examine a potential move to the Emirates this summer. But, there is no further reports as to if the discussions have been held and/or agreements have been reached.
Lacazette is another fast paced player that could be a potential replacement for Walcott who might be heading to Anfield this summer and would work closely with Alexis Sanchez to make Arsenal attacking options one of the deadliest in the coming season.
