Aleksandr Golovin is ready to shun interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea and join Cristiano Ronaldo at Serie A champions Juventus, reports in Italy claim. The 22-year-old appears destined to leave CSKA Moscow after impressing Russia at the World Cup, helping to guide the host nation to the last eight. Golovin scored one, contributed two assists and netted a penalty in the shoot-out win over Spain in the round of 16, but with Russia out of tournament attention has turned to his future.
Chelsea were understood to be the front-runners after a number of parties claimed the FA Cup winners had made direct contact with the midfielder. Ex-CSKA boss Valeri Gazzaev appeared to confirm that Golovin was on his way to west London last week when he claimed a contract between both parties had been agreed. Agent Oleg Artemov moved to deny that Chelsea has clinched an agreement with his client and insisted talks with a number of unnamed sides were still underway.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with a £26m move for Golovin, however Tuttosport understand Golovin wants to move to Turin this summer. Those ambitions could be hindered by the arrival of Ronaldo at the Juventus Stadium for £99.2m, a deal which will see the Portugal international earn £500,000-a-week.
