Alderwelreld who has been arguably Spurs best defender since he joined from Southampton, currently has a contract with Spurs that expires next summer and there has been no agreement reached on a new deal yet.
The club have the option of extending the contract by a further twelve months, but run the risk of losing him for just £20 million at the end of next season.

Arsenal have the odds well against them in this battle though, as Daniel Levy is unlikely to agree to sell to his arch rivals, and the Gunners failure to qualify for the Champions league makes their chances of wooing 29-year-old even slimmer.
