There seem to be no need for Arsenal to sign any player this winter but Arsene Wenger defied the odd and signed Cohen Bramall.
Since then, several players have been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Andrea Belotti of Torino topping the list. However, Arsene Wenger was asked about the player ahead of Arsenal’s game with Swansea.
We have been heavily linked with Torino striker Andrea Belotti and Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata in recent days, but it appears Wenger is happy with his current attacking options at the Emirates.
He insisted that there was absolutely no truth in Arsenal’s rumoured pursuit of the duo and listed Yaya Sanogo and Chuba Akpom as reasons he does not need to bring in attacking reinforcements in January.
On the speculation linking Arsenal with a move for Belotti, Wenger said: ‘That’s what you call today fake news. ‘No [there has been no bid].
‘We have Welbeck coming back, [Olivier] Giroud, [Alexis] Sanchez, [Theo] Walcott, we have plenty of strikers like [Lucas] Perez who is doing very well now.
‘We have Akpom, Sanogo and a high number of strikers.’
The north London club travel to Swansea this weekend and it’s expected that Giroud will continue his stint up front after a sensational run of form.
