Arsenal have just been handed a major boost in their quest to bolster their attack before the close of the January transfer window.
The French star had reportedly admitted of wanted to leave the Hammers and he was found to like a tweet at him to leave the London club.
The Frenchman has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal while the Hammers have struggled this season, but it is actually former club Marseille who may take most from this slip.
After the Irons were thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday, the 29-year-old’s official account liked a tweet stating: ‘4-0 to City, Payet on the bench, West Ham flowing in PL, it’s time to return home @dimpayet17 #TeamOM.’
Since returning from the European Championship of 2016, Payet has struggled for form this term and this has largely affected the performance of his team.
The midfielder has just three goals and eight assists in 22 appearances in all competitions this time round, compared to 15 goals and 17 assists in 44 games last term.
