Arsenal started the season dismally but there is no excuse tenable for the team’s poor display.
We were thumped 4-3 right in front of our fans and Wenger is to be blame for the pains the fans are feeling. He signs the players, he sees them in training and selects them to play – It would be injustice to the players if they are blamed for what we saw earlier on. WENGER must take the responsibility of this show of shame.
Speaking after the game, Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry believes that the Gunners boo for Wenger after the game was justified.
‘They were nice at 1-4 down, they got behind the team,’ Henry said on Sky Sports.
‘At the end it’s fair if fans are upset with another bad start to the season.’
The Frenchman also feels that the likes of Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil should have played, despite having been in action at Euro 2016.
Henry said, ‘I would have played,’ in reply to the question, after watching Arsenal fall to yet another loss where their defence looked below par.
Manager Arsene Wenger has failed to invest in his back line this summer, despite Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista suffering injuries after Laurent Koscielny had taken part heavily at Euro 2016.
