Arsenal and Manchester United will do battle for the signature of Aston Villa’s Benteke once the January transfer window opens according to daily star. The big Belgian was a target for Arsenal in the last transfer window but he chose to renew his Aston Villa contract just days after he put in an official transfer request. Although Tottenham were also interested in signing the prolific striker but according to Daily star, only Arsenal and Manchester United are still interested.
United are looking for another striker to replace Wayne Rooney who will seek to leave the English champions in January according to reports. Arsenal on the other hand are desperately looking for another striker after failing to sign a back up striker to current first choice striker Olivier Giroud. Although the Belgian has just signed a new contract with Aston Villa, it is believed Arsenal and Manchester United’s persistent may force Villa to sell the striker in January.
Benteke should be available to whatever club that wants him in January for as much as 25 million pounds.
