Juventus are considering a move for Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi if they are unable to land their top targets.

According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus see Mustafi as a back-up option if they fail in their pursuit of Diego Godin and Jerome Boateng.

The Italian giants were heavily linked with a move for Mustafi in the January transfer window, with Arsenal unwilling to cash in on the defender.

The German international’s position at Arsenal is under threat, now, following the arrival of Sokratis from Borussia Dortmund.

Sokratis has joined the club for a fee in the region of £16m and could force Mustafi out of the team.

This means that Mustafi could look to force a move away from Arsenal to Juventus this summer.

However, Juventus may not make an offer for Mustafi if they can land Godin from Atletico Madrid or Boateng from Bayern Munich.
