Arsenal target Monchi says it’s a “pleasure” to be linked with the Gunners.
The 50-year-old is currently Roma’s director of football and has been mooted with replacing Sven Mislintat in north London.
Arsenal’s head of recruitment will leave the club on February 8, after just 14 months in the role.
The German’s finest achievements include securing the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan early on.
There have been rumours that Mislintat and Unai Emery did not see eye-to-eye on the club’s transfer plans, however, these have not been confirmed.
Monchi worked with Emery before at Sevilla, and is reportedly top of Arsenal’s shortlist for a new technical director job.
The Spaniard, whose contract with the Serie A giants runs until 2020, has now spoken out about the Arsenal links.
“I know my name is being associated with Arsenal but I am concentrating on my job with Roma,” he told The Sun.
